1. The Promoter
1.1 The Promoter is The Rare Plant Scout Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17361382), registered office 8 Percy Road, Cynonville, Port Talbot, SA13 3HL ("RPS", "we", "us"). Contact: shop@rareplantscout.com.
1.2 By entering, entrants agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The giveaway is open to residents of England, Scotland and Wales aged 13 or over at the time of entry. Entrants aged 13 to 17 must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter, and the Promoter may ask for this permission before awarding the prize.
2.2 The Promoter, its officers, and members of their immediate families and households may not enter.
2.3 The Promoter may ask the winner for proof of age, identity and residency in England, Scotland or Wales before the prize is awarded. If proof is not provided, the prize may be redrawn.
2.4 Each entrant must be a single, real person. Entries made using fake, duplicate, automated or bought accounts, or on behalf of another person, will be disqualified.
3. Promotion period
3.1 The giveaway opens on 1 October 2026 when the first official giveaway post is published, and closes at 6:00pm UK time (GMT) on 28 October 2026. UK clocks change from BST to GMT on 25 October 2026, so the closing time is 6:00pm GMT.
3.2 Entries made after the closing time will not be counted.
4. No purchase necessary
4.1 No purchase or payment is required to enter or to win. Buying from RPS does not increase an entrant's chance of winning.
4.2 The website launch discount (up to 50% off UK tissue culture plants) is a separate offer and is not part of this giveaway. The launch discount runs until 28 October 2026 or until the plants sell out, whichever comes first.
5. How to enter
5.1 Entrants can collect entries in any of the ways below. Each method is optional. "Official giveaway posts" means the launch giveaway posts published by RPS on its Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube accounts during the promotion period.
| Action | Entries | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Sign up to RPS emails at rareplantscout.com | 10 (once per person) | Sign-up must be completed before the closing time. Existing subscribers qualify. |
| Be the first to correctly guess the variety of the variegated Monstera prize | 10 bonus entries | Guesses are made in the comments of an official giveaway post. One guess per person per platform. The bonus entries go to the first correct guess, judged by the time of the comment. |
| Join the Indonesia Sales Group in the RPS WhatsApp community | 1 | Via this link. Entrant must still be a member at the closing time. |
| Join a seller group in the RPS WhatsApp community | 1 per group | Entrant must still be a member at the closing time. |
| Follow RPS on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and subscribe on YouTube | 1 per platform (maximum 4) | Must still be following or subscribed at the closing time. Existing followers qualify. YouTube subscriptions count only where the entrant's subscriptions are set to public, because private subscriptions are not visible to the Promoter. |
| Like an official giveaway post | 1 per platform (maximum 3) | Instagram, TikTok and Facebook only. YouTube likes are not counted, because YouTube does not show the Promoter who liked a video. |
| Tag a plant friend in the comments of an official giveaway post | 1 per friend tagged (maximum 10 per post) | Instagram and TikTok only. Each tagged account must belong to a different real person aged 13 or over. Tagging the same account more than once on the same post counts once. Tags of the entrant's own accounts, brands, celebrities or inactive accounts do not count. Tagged people are not entered unless they enter themselves. |
5.2 Facebook entries are limited to following the RPS Page and liking the official giveaway post. Tagging or sharing on Facebook does not earn entries, in line with Meta's Pages, Groups and Events Policies.
5.3 Each entry is recorded by the Promoter against the account or phone number used. All valid entries go into one draw. The Promoter will check the winning entry against these terms before the prize is awarded.
5.4 Entries that are incomplete, made by automated means, or that break the rules of the platform concerned will not be counted. Entries made on YouTube must also follow the YouTube Community Guidelines, and entries that do not will be disqualified.
6. The prize
6.1 There is one prize: one rare variegated Monstera plant. The variety is chosen by the Promoter.
6.2 The prize includes free tracked delivery to an address in England, Scotland or Wales and is supplied with a UK Plant Passport.
6.3 The prize is a live plant. The Promoter may delay dispatch until temperatures are safe for shipping live plants, and will agree a dispatch date with the winner. Responsibility for the plant's care passes to the winner on delivery.
6.4 There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be transferred. If the chosen plant becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter's control, the Promoter will supply a rare variegated Monstera of equal or greater value.
6.5 Images used in giveaway posts are for illustration only and do not show the prize plant.
7. Winner selection
7.1 The winner will be drawn at random from all valid entries on or before 1 November 2026, using a computer-based random number generator or by an independent person.
7.2 The draw will be recorded, and the record kept until the prize has been delivered.
8. Contacting the winner and claiming the prize
8.1 The winner will be contacted by direct message on the platform of the winning entry, and by email or WhatsApp where the Promoter holds those details. RPS will never ask the winner for payment, bank details or passwords.
8.2 The winner must reply within 7 days of first contact, confirming their full name, UK delivery address and that they are 13 or over and, if under 18, that a parent or guardian agrees. If there is no reply within 7 days, or the winner is not eligible, a new winner will be drawn in the same way.
9. Publication of the winner
9.1 The winner's surname and county will be published on RPS social media and made available on request by emailing shop@rareplantscout.com, within 28 days of the winner accepting the prize. The winner may object to publication by telling the Promoter when claiming the prize. The Promoter may still be required to provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority.
10. Personal data
10.1 Personal data collected for this giveaway (account names, phone numbers, email addresses and the winner's delivery details) will be used only to run the giveaway and deliver the prize, in line with UK GDPR and the RPS privacy policy.
10.2 Giveaway entry records will be deleted within 3 months of the prize being delivered.
10.3 Signing up to RPS emails is a separate consent to receive marketing. Entrants can unsubscribe at any time.
11. Platform release
11.1 This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Meta, TikTok, YouTube or Google. Entrants release these platforms from any liability connected with the giveaway. Questions should be sent to the Promoter, not to the platforms.
12. General
12.1 The Promoter may disqualify entries that breach these terms.
12.2 The Promoter may change, suspend or cancel the giveaway only if circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary. Any change will be announced on the RPS social media accounts.
12.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12.4 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
